PA Farm Markets was an idea that originated in Waymart, Pennsylvania by the owner of Cavage's Country Farm Market.
Cavage's Farm Market in it's prime was a flourishing produce market; one that many considered a local staple. It was a source of fresh produce, beautiful flowers, baked goods, local jams and honey, and so much more. But like most great things, this market was not immune to hardship. When faced with the challenges brought forth by Covid, it came time to make the difficult decision to limit the items we offered to our community. Which was a decision that made us really think. Family owned businesses are facing perhaps one of the hardest times yet. The growing number of small businesses that have been forced to close their doors proves to be a huge problem for the community surrounding them. Economically and from a recreational standpoint, we depend on these small businesses. When shopping local, you are given a level of customer service unmatched by large corporations. You support families within your own community. You have places to explore, and quality items to purchase. Not to mention the many health benefits of buying locally sourced food. However, we lose all of this and more when these shops are forced to close. Ultimately, we as consumers have no other choice but to give our business to these large corporations. Which, in turn, means lower quality food to put on your dinner table. In order to try to combat mass closures throughout Pennsylvania, PA Farm Markets was created. The hope is to provide an outlet of advertising for the many different types of small businesses relating to farm markets. Here you are given the chance to reach customers that otherwise would not have known of your store. We hope that in some way we can help your business grow!
